Latest News on our progress in the 2024 Inter Club Competitions as of 27th June 2024 :

O’Grady Cup- Last Round opponents were Corrstown after wins against Roganstown and Sutton. For the first time in the competition we had home advantage . The leading match in Swords came out of the blocks like Usain Bolt and raced into a commanding lead they would never relinquish. One point secured!

In Corrstown the home team also raced into a lead but were pegged back late on but took the victory on the 17th. 1 point each

2nd match in Corrstown was a very close affair but the home team had a sprint finish and took the point. 1-2 Corrstown

That left 2 matches in Swords to decide the match. Match 2 in Swords was again a tight affair but the home team finished the stronger 2-2!!

So it came down to the last match and after an epic battle they went down the 18th all square.

With the pressure on Swords hit 2 amazing shots to the heart of the green and who better to nearly hold the birdie and win the match than Lady Captain Karen

A brilliant team effort from Swords who dug deep for this victory and we go marching on to the Semi final. Managed by Derek Carmody and Orla McGuinness. Best of Luck everyone!

  • McDonnell Cup - Lost out to Donabate in a mighty struggle on the 13th May, came down to the last match, 17th hole,

  • Uden Cup - Lost out to Clontarf after good progress in the competition

  • Jimmy Bruen - Into the Quarter finals after great wins against Balbriggan and St. Margarets

  • Pierce Purcell - Lost out in a tight game to Baltray, managed by Ray Robinson.

  • Best Cup - Lost to Craddockstown in the Quarter Finals, after progressing against Delgany and Elm Park in earlier rounds. A strong performance, managed as usual by George Lynch.
